I’m Sorella Tacchi, and I’m currently serving as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Italy Rome Mission.
While I’m away for 18 months serving the Italian people, my Mom will keep this updated with my latest adventures. But first a little bit about myself…
I was grew up in the church with my parents in a seaside town in the South West of England, where I have many of my closest friends and had so many wonderful opportunities – the Lord has blessed me so much!
When the mission age for sisters changed, many told me that I should go on a mission. Being the stubborn girl that I am, their suggestion made me determined not to go. However, something just didn’t right with me when I thought this but I just decided to ignore this. Until I just had to know if the Lord wanted me to go (knowing full well what the answer would be!).
In the summer of 2014 I decided to pray about whether I should go; just to put my mind at ease. It was honestly one of the most spiritual experiences for me. I didn’t hear a resounding yes, all that came to my mind were 2 scriptures: Moroni 8:10 and Moroni 10:32-33. When I read these scriptures it was obvious what I needed to do; I needed to teach the Lord’s children about the gospel because I loved him with all my “might, mind and strength”.
So just over a year later I put my papers in. It wasn’t a straightforward year, it had its challenges and Satan tried to convince me not to go but I worked through it and everything came together with the help of the Lord and the support of my wonderful friends and family. I couldn’t be more excited to serve in the beautiful area that is the Italy Rome Mission, especially with the new Rome Temple being built.
